Nakba Day – A Day of Remembrance
The terrorist state of Israel has consistently pursued a policy of continuous land usurpation from Palestinians and the creation of illegal settlements on Palestinian land, accompanied by displacement, civilian bombings, military operations, and a brutal regime of occupation and apartheid.
In this crime, the Greek government rushed to support the butcher Netanyahu, both politically and by allowing the use of Greek ports for the transport of military equipment and fuel, thereby participating in this war, which has taken on proportions that threaten broader international peace. The resistance of the Palestinian people was and remains just. Always! It is a resistance against occupation, imprisonment, torture, the killings of Palestinian civilians and children.
The Greek people have nothing to gain from the so-called “strategic alliance between Greece and Israel” (initiated by the Papandreou and Samaras governments, deepened by Tsipras’ government, and escalated by Mitsotakis). The Israeli regime of apartheid, occupation, and genocide stands in direct opposition to the interests of our country and our people, as it constantly seeks military escalation in our region, represents the imperialist logic of “might makes right,” and promotes an international order where power dominates, not International Law.
The Greek people are on the right side of history, opposing the Mitsotakis government’s complicity in the genocide in Gaza, and will continue to fight for Peace, Freedom, and Solidarity with Palestine. As the United Initiative of MeRA25 | Subversive Ecological Left, we call for a mobilization on Saturday, May 17, at Freedom Park (Megaro Mousikis metro station) at 1:30 p.m., with a march to the Israeli embassy.
